My journey into design began with music — both rooted in timing, emotion, and dynamics.
Music taught me how stories emerge through movement and flow. Interactive design speaks to me for the same reason: bridging the physical and digital to craft experiences that resonate emotionally.
philosophy
Design shouldn’t just be seen — it should be felt.
That’s why I push to get designs into interactive form as early as possible. Static mocks only go so far — they flatten what could be dimensional, responsive, and alive. Prototyping is a way of thinking for me — a way to discover ideas, not just demonstrate them.
I’m especially drawn to Origami Studio by Facebook. It’s become my favorite playground for rapid exploration and prototyping. Being able to test interactions in real time — on real devices — has reshaped how I approach creative problem solving.
What I'm drawn to
✦ Designing experiences that feel human ✦ Microinteractions that build delight ✦ Creating tools and experiences that empower others ✦ Partnering across design & engineering ✦ Balancing restraint with just the right amount of magic
Outside the screen
I’m a dad, guitarist, songwriter, coffee drinker, and a sucker for old tube amps. When I'm not creating, I love spending time with my family and fishing.

Engage with the Bible, Anywhere, Anytime.
As Principal Product Designer at YouVersion, I’ve spent the past decade helping shape the user experience of the world’s leading Bible App, now with over 750 million downloads. I’ve played a key role in designing major features like personalized reading plans and seamless cross-platform functionality. My work centers on crafting an intuitive, user-friendly interface that serves a diverse global audience, making it both easy and rewarding to engage with Scripture daily.

Architecture
Launching in Q4 2025, the new Today experience is designed to feel more personal and intuitive—helping people find the right content at the right time. I led the visual design and creative direction, shaping how it looks and feels to support users in their daily spiritual rhythm.
This prototype explores the full opening sequence — starting with a warm welcome and guiding users through an immersive, focused experience. It ends with a hero card stack that surfaces completed content, giving users a clear sense of progress and an easy way to revisit what matters most..
This prototype walks through a realistic user flow — adjusting settings, switching to dark mode, highlighting content, and saving a note. It’s designed to capture the full experience, showing how small details and edge cases come together to form a comprehensive, end-to-end interaction.
I partnered with illustrator Peter Voth on the Badges project, where he brought the badge illustrations to life. I led the art direction, crafted the UI and user experience, and colorized the final set to ensure it felt cohesive and engaging in the app.

Global Bible Month is a historic milestone uniting millions worldwide to celebrate God’s Word. For the first time, people everywhere are engaging Scripture together across languages and cultures, marking a new era where technology carries the Bible further and faster than ever before. I led the design and animation for the site, with branding by Josh Lowder.
